The Company Section Award Scheme

This Badge work scheme enables the member to pick and choose credits to gain awards. (With the exception of the Leadership Award, where all three Credits are mandatory) In Kempston we are fortunate to have the staffing team to provide a variety of activities and many of our lads continue with these long after they have gained the badge and all its surrounds.

(as denoted by a * in our badge work award list)

For first year company section members (the recruits) we have a special induction programme, this includes some activity based challenges to gain the Target Award. The Buttonhole Badge is also issued to the Recruits once they can demonstrate some key BB knowledge, Including the Object, the Motto & Founder and date of formation.

The Target Award    The Button Hole Badge

For those company lads who gain all five award and surrounds there are two special awards. The Presidents Badge and The Queens Badge. (The later of which is the highest BB Badge available to any boy.) The framework for this is very detailed and includes taking some form of leadership in the company (for example working with the Anchor Boys) as well as community service outside the Brigade and a variety of other activities.

The Presidents and Queens Badge work hand in hand with the Duke of Edinburgh’s  Bronze and Silver Awards.   In Kempston we also proudly celebrate that a number of past members have gained the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s – a key part of our expedition programme.

Boys’ who gain the Queens Badge and the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award have worked extremely hard with immense dedication, because of this we ask you to stand when one is presented at our Annual Inspection and Display to mark this occasion.

Our Junior and Anchor Boy section also offer Badge work programmes to help Boys enjoy their time in BB.  We thank all our Officers, Leaders and Class Instructors who have and continue to help lead our programme activities.
